Land Information

Gobichettipalayam (often simply called Gobi) is a small town in the Erode District of Tamil Nadu state, India. Major part of present Gobichettipalayam was previously known as Verapandi Gramam, and more quondam documents and records still use that name. Gobichettipalayam boasts some famous tourist spots like Kodivery dam, Gunderi Pallam Dam, Bhavanisagar Dam near the periphery of forests. This place is also famous for religious attractions like Pariyur Kondathu Kaliamman Temple, Pachaimalai Balamurugan Hill Temple and Pavalamalai Muthu Kumaraswamy Hill Temple. Because of the scenic beauty and cultural richness, outdoor shooting of the film industry thrives in this area.

11.46° N 77.43° E, Gobichettipalayam is about 43 km from District headquarters Erode and 85 km from Coimbatore. It is warm and humid for most of the year. The surrounding water logged paddy fields contribute to the high humidity levels.
